Personality
Sora is very friendly, he enjoys having friends, being around people, regardless if it's a park, or a trip to the beach. He's happiest when he's surrounded by the people he cares about. He likes sunny days, ice cream, and would like to think that every day is like that. He's not a leader, doesn't even want to be, he's happy being a follower if he trusts who he follows. He can get a bit too emotional about things, usually Riku and Kairi hold him back.
Wisdom: When this form is awaken he's more calm, collected, thoughtful.
Valor: When this form is awaken he's more aggressive, assertive, confident, forward.
Master/Final: The unification of both forms is attained, the perfect balance.
AntiForm: The manifestation of the natural darkness that resides in us all. Because everyone forces the idea that Sora is 'pure' light. And forces him into the role of leader which is not a role he really enjoys having, all darker emotions are locked up. But nothing stays locked up forever, and when they come out, they are as he appears. A black storm cloud of pure chaos and destruction. However; damage inflicted upon friends will weaken Sora upon return to normal, making the odds of Antiform's reappearance more likely.
History
Sora was born and raised on a small series of islands called, ironically, Destiny Island. He loved the sun, surf, and the challenges that Riku placed before him. Life was rather simplistic, even after Kairi appeared on the island. Sora was always the type to just accept odd things and befriending Kairi never bothered him, despite not knowing where she came from. So when Riku suggested building a raft and finding Kairi's home, he went right along with it.
That's how it worked for him, Riku was the brains, Kairi was the encouragement and Sora was happy with that. But when the world was consumed with Darkness it turned what had been a plan for adventure into a nightmare. Losing both his friends, and his world made him realize how fragile all those things he enjoyed really were. He fought to find Riku and Kairi, only to find out that Kairi's heart had been removed and Riku blamed him. He fought through countless Heartless, villains from various worlds and forced to trade blows with Riku before he learned the truth. Or at least some part of the truth.
Through a series of papers dubbed the 'Ansem Reports' he learned about the Heartless and the study of Hearts. Done by a man named 'Ansem', Sora was left confused as to how someone could simply associate the Heart with Darkness. After all, the Heart was sealed within a body at all times, so it was naturally surrounded by Darkness. World after World Sora went looking for his missing friends, trying to reason with Riku only to have his words fall on deaf ears. Donald and Goofy did what they could to encourage Sora not to lose hope as each battle became more difficult.
It headed for a showdown in Hollow Bastion, the original world that the Heartless came from. First in facing Riku; the true, though now corrupted, keyblade master. Forced to surrender the Keyblade to the stronger boy, he watched as both his 'friends' left him to serve Riku. Left with an angry Beast, he traveled once again reduced to depend on someone else to protect him, the mocking toy sword left to him doing nothing against the horde of Heartless.
But Goofy returned and with him Donald, with that encouragement Sora pulled away the Keyblade from Riku and bested him in battle. Shocked, Riku ran from him, deserting him again while he traveled this lonely world. He found the room where all the Princesses of Hearts were held, as well as Kairi's empty body. Locked away, he faced both Maleficient and a Possessed Riku before he found a way to awaken Kairi. But in doing so he surrendered to a life as a Heartless himself, taking the form of a small Shadow, while inadvertently creating Roxas.
Like all the other Heartless he felt the warmth of whole people, the warmth leading him back to his friends. But maybe he was just a little stronger then the others, or perhaps just so new that the hunger hadn't destroyed his mind. In any case, Sora didn't hurt his friends, aching only for them to notice he was there. He was lucky, in that Kairi realized the truth and protected him from Donald's wand. Returned to his true form without Roxas, he didn't even know he was missing anything. Instead he carried on his journey now with a new task laying before him. Riku had been deceived, not only that, but now his body had been taken over by Ansem.
In retrospect he felt some of the blame was on him for that. Sora had been the eternal shadow to Riku, always the second class to Riku's perfection. When meeting the pair Riku was always noticed first, and while that didn't bother Sora. He just wanted to have friends where he wasn't compared to Riku, just to prove he 'could' make friends on his own. So he tried to be 'like' Riku, assuming that it was necessary to be Cool to have friends. Maybe... maybe if he had just been open and honest with Riku, told him the truth about how scared he had been. He'd make it up though, he wouldn't let Riku disappear before they reconciled their friendship.
At the Door to Kingdom Hearts he found Riku; with Ansem now defeated Riku's body returned to him. Letting Riku join them at the Door, but unable to go through it, himself. That's when the King, the person Goofy and Donald had been looking all over for appeared. From within the Kingdom itself with it's Keyblade in his hands. With a promise to see his Best Friend again, Sora helped seal Kingdom Hearts. But instead of going home with Kairi, he instead turned his attention to the open road and the search for this illusive Door.
Sora then lost a year of his life. He didn't know how it happened, merely that he fell asleep at a campsite and woke up a year later. His clothes no longer fit right, he felt and looked silly. His body had leaned out a bit more, and he was in a town called 'Twilight Town'. Very confusing, all of it, even more so by the sudden appearance of the King and three people who he never met before. Yet he felt such a strange, strong longing towards them. He was directed to meet King Mickey's own Magic instructor, and from there gained a new better fitting outfit, as well as a new power. But also foreboding news about what had been going on in the past year. Determined to protect his friends from this new threat he traveled, hoping to find Riku as he went along. After all the King was oddly mum on the topic of the Silver haired Keyblade Master.
It was eerie, the way the trip went this time. He wasn't used to enemies who could talk or think logically, who had a point for what they were doing. Nor was he comfortable with how people who he knew had apparently forgotten him, or strangers who called him by a different name all together. His fears and concerns, the instability of it all gave rise to the Anti form. He was surprised when he learned that the person who had become the focus of his anger and dislike was, in fact, innocent.
It took a bit of time, to wrap his brain around the concept that Ansem-who-was-not-Ansem had been the one to unleash the Darkness in the first place. The fact that Maleficent was willing to lend him aid for some unknown reason was still creepy. It was difficult, wading through an eternal sea of confusion. All he really wanted was to find Riku and bring his best friend home. Traveling was fun, but home was where he wanted to be. So he went and fought the battles set before him, struggling to deal with the fact that Kairi had been kidnapped.
He reached a new world shrouded in Darkness, a world with a sad name: The World that Never Was. A lonely world where no one lived save Heartless, yet full of stores, apartments and other things a thriving civilization would need. The trip alone was dangerous, the group had been swamped by Dusks, only a timely, costly save from Axel saved them. Though the red head had kidnapped Kairi, and been a mild irritation, he had rescued them at the cost of his own life.
His parting words were unsettling and confusing, and Sora wrote them off as a dying man speaking his thoughts. But upon reaching that dark world, something, rather someone, woke up. Surrounding him with Samurai Nobodies, a black coated stranger about Sora's height, stalked out of a Dark Portal, challenging Sora to a fight. After the stranger admitted to having 'defeated a Riku once' Sora was quite willing to get into a fight. After he had been told about the Keyblades, it was a shock to find another wielder, not only wielding a keyblade but a duel wielder himself.
The stranger was good, aggressive fueled by something Sora didn't know at the time, forceful enough to disarm Sora. But while the stranger 'did' wield the keyblade, his lack of a heart didn't allow him to view the blades as anything other then weapons. Sora jumped on that fact, resummoning his own keyblade he countered. Winning the fight, he found that this member of the Organization was as young as he was. Not only that, but like all the other members he left with a cryptic message.
"You make a good Other."
Odd that a battle that intense was carried on inside the mind, yet that's where Sora apparently fought given what Donald and Goofy said. He was confused by the fact, but he went on towards the castle following the King. Cryptic statements confused him as he faced Xigbar, alarm bells blew as he saw Kairi up above him. He raced up the stairs seeking her out, but it was who was fighting beside her that alarmed him the most.
Xehnort's Heartless was someone that Sora couldn't fathom forgiving, yet there he was protecting Kairi. For Sora it wasn't all that long ago since he had to face the Heartless, to save Kairi, Riku, and the Worlds. Now to have to thank the Heartless for Saving Kairi? That was a bit of a bit much for him, but he swallowed his little bit of pride and thanked the man.
"Riku don't go!"
Watching Kairi run off, listening to Kairi speak 'those' words as she grabbed 'Xehanort' emotionally knocked Sora off his feet. Was she blinded? Maybe mind control? That could have been why she hugged him like that. But when he called out to her, the reply spoke volumes. He felt like he was walking into a trap, as he approached with Kairi's eyes encouraging him. Xehanort didn't look down at them much, only from the corner of his bright yellow eyes. But Kairi took his hand and placed it palm against palm into the older man's hand...
Physical eyes said this person was an enemy, but the Heart showed his best friend. Eyes burning with long held tears, he began to cry letting the tears fall. When he opened them again he fell to his knees, grabbing and holding on to Riku. Form no longer mattered, Riku was here, safe and alive regardless of what Saix insinuated. Guilt gnawed at him, wondering if this new form was his fault.
It had been over two years since the trio could walk side by side again. No laughter, nor games this time, but they were together and Sora needed that connection at the moment. With Riku reunited with them, Sora finally learned just 'why' people kept calling him 'Roxas'. He was startled by this revelation, but with Riku there to steady him it wasn't so bad.
They travelled further up the castle until they came upon King Mickey and the True Ansem. But Xemnas appeared locking verbal horns with Ansem while the Heart Decorder, a machine Ansem built, sparked and danced in Ansem's grasp. The machine finally gave out, the stored power pouring out like a wave, pushing everyone back. They were all knocked out with Riku sacrificing himself as a shield for them.
The concern that Riku may have gotten himself killed because of them filled him with fear as he got up. He rushed off towards the teen focused on the black coat when it occurred to him that Riku... had changed. The image he saw in his heart had startled him when they were reunited. Now, he saw that form again, but the eyes were marred with a black blindfold. Riku seemed to wish a return to his solitary travels, holding himself still responsible for his crimes. But the gang helped Sora coax Riku into the group, allowing Sora to actually fight alongside his best friend.
They continued battling along until they reached Xemnas within Kingdom Hearts. By then they had been stripped down to only just Sora and Riku left to fight. First Kairi and King Mickey had been thrown back out of the Kingdom, then they along with Donald and Goofy left through a Dark Door for home, courtesy of Namine.
With only Riku by his side they fought a long grueling battle left them exhausted. Despite his exhaustion Sora still had to carry on, with Riku now crippled from taking a devastating blow. They talked, admitting personal thoughts and feelings, until they found their way to the Dark World. But now, Sora didn't fear the Darkness, Riku had survived it, and was with him. So long as his best friend was near he would endure it. Besides everyone was safe, and that was all that mattered.
